Most wanted Ukanafun terrorist, Iso Akpafid killed (Photos)
Confirmed report has it that the notorious kidnapper in Ukanafun LGA, ‘Iso Akpafid’ has been killed by security personnel.
In a classic fulfillment of the popular Nigerian saying, “many days for the thief, one day for the owner of the house,” a man who made kidnapping and murder of innocent citizens his source of income, has met his waterloo.
The dreaded killer was killed in the early hours of yesterday in River State. His body is currently being displayed at various locations in Ukanafun.
The notorious killer, one Akaninyene better known by his nickname “Iso-akpa’fid”, who hailed from Ikot Ibekwe in Ukanafun Local Government Area, got more than he bargained for, Monday, as he was not only killed by battle ready officers but his corpse was driven in a police van around the area while inhabitants took pictures of the “fallen hero” on January 15.
It is however alleged that his father and mother died years ago as a result of their son’s nefarious life.
“Iso-akpa’fid”, had been on the wanted list by law enforcement agencies for his alleged involvement in killings, maiming, kidnapping and raping of women.
According to a source, “he had been a terror to the people as he specialized in several horrific and heinous acts he carried out for at least three and a half years”.
“He later resorted to issuing letters to innocent and poor people in the area forcing them to pay huge amounts ranging from Five Hundred Thousand (500,000) Naira to Three Million Naira (N3, 000,000) depending on the financial strength of the victim. Failure to cooperate, the victim would be tortured, raped or killed”, a source told our reporter.
However, the death of the scary criminal is coming less than two weeks since a new Commissioner of Police, CP Adeyemi Samuel Ogunjemilusi assumed duty in Akwa Ibom State.
It will be recalled that, upon assumption of office, Wednesday, 3th January, 2018, CP Ogunjemilusi, had promised to make Akwa Ibom the safest in Nigeria.
The Police boss in his maiden Press chat told Crime Reporters that he has reviewed the security architecture of the State and had brainstormed with his principal officers to reposition the command for effective service delivery, while special attention will be paid to the reorganization of the command’s tactical units such as anti-cultism, anti-kidnapping, anti-robbery, State Intelligence Bureau and Quick Response Squad to effectively combat crimes in the state.
In a very vocal tone, the new Police Chief warned criminal elements in the State that “tough time awaits them”, stressing that the command under his watch “will pursue criminals and bring them to justice”.
And, true to his words, the notorious terrorist Akaninyene Jumbo, AKA, Iso-akpa’fid, was Monday morning shot dead in his hideout in Okrika, Rivers State.
