If reports making the rounds are anything to go by, some former Council Chairmen who served in the just dissolved Councils are set to return to serve in the constituted Transition Committees.
A source in the State Peoples Democratic Party who spoke to our Reporter on conditions of anonymity said that about six former Council Chairmen have been penciled down in the list of those who would return to serve as Chairmen of Transition Committees.
He noted that the former Chairmen have been so because of the parts they played in their various Local Government Area that saw to the emergence of the present State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
Our source added that the scenario where men and women who served with former Governor Akpabio in his executive Council were returned to serve with Udom Emmanuel is what is being played out in the constitution of Transition Committees in the State.
He listed former Council Chairmen including Etetim Awatim of Ini, Godwin Ekpo of Ibiono Ibom, Isantim Kenneth Okon aka Wayas, Tony Akan of Uruan, Obonganwan Gloria Useh of Ikot Ekpene and two other former Council Chairmen adding that the transition committee would last for six months while the swearing-in would be carried out tomorrow, Tuesday by the State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
It would be recalled that the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly last week Thursday during Plenary dissolved Local Government Councils which tenure expired Friday and called on the various Heads of Service to take over the leadership of the Councils pending when the State Governor would announce Transition Committees.
