Uyo State Constituency 2019: Mike Enyong, Anietie Eka land in trouble

For publicly endorsing Mr. Anietie Eka for the next House of Assembly as her representative, top shots and Elders of Uyo State Constituency have moved against her federal lawmaker Mike Enyong warning him against heating up the polity.

In a release delivered by hand to THE INK reporter by a highly placed member of the PDP who is a statutory delegate, the release warned Mike Enyong to stay on the line of Sanity otherwise both himself and Anietie Eka will feel the anger of Uyo people.

The group who described themselves as Uyo Conscience said, the destiny of Uyo people by 2019 cannot be tied to just Monday Eyo and Anietie Eka.

A part of the release reads, “It is our considered opinion that if we keep silent in the face of this growing oppression of rising youths and politically conscious youngmen, it has the trappings of snowballing into a political crisis that will do no one, no good.

Last week one of our highly placed and illustrious sons Hon. Mike Enyong, alias Babe Ntan in a callous display of shame threw political decorum to the wind and proceeded to display a crude sense of irresponsibility, rascality and political naivety by his unilateral decision of promoting publicly the House of Assembly ambition of Mr. Anietie Eka.

Lest we are misquoted and misunderstood, let us be unambiguous here that we have nothing, absolutely nothing against the ambition of Eka except that Mike Enyong’s interest is our worry.

In a show of borrowed supremacy Enyong whose representation in the National Assembly is below par would have the effrontery of singlehandedly raising Anietie Eka’s hand as our next reps at the state House of Assembly. This is not only an embarrassment to Uyo people but ridicule to serious minded persons in the state.

To say the least, our concern is that with the likes of Cyril Ekiko, Sir Valentine Attah, Prince Enobong Uwah and Elder Imo Okon, Mike Enyong has no business whatsoever telling Uyo people who to vote for as the House of Assembly member come 2019 election.

This is because the said Enyong who is representing Uyo Federal Constituency in the National Assembly has neither legislated well nor attend to his oversight functions well enough to speak for us politically. This man called Mike Enyong is unfit to choose a legislator for Uyo people especially at times like these. Uyo people cannot be deceived the second time”.

Furthermore, Uyo Conscience maintained that, “by Mike Enyong’s position, he has locked out others who may likely be interested in running for that particular office come 2019. Our brother Mike Enyong should be educated to know that the Destiny of Uyo state constituency cannot be tied down to Monday Eyo and Anietie Eka as 2019 election comes knocking”.

The body whose membership is drawn from all the wards and villages in Uyo expressed disappointment on Enobong Uwah, Sir Valentine Attah and other notable Uyo leaders for remaining silent in the face of the acts of what they noted is high handedness by Michael Enyong.

Both Mike Enyong and Anietie Eka could not be reached for comments as they refused to speak when contacted on the political developments that will lead rise to the 2019 Uyo State Constituency election.
